Edit Course Details

Note: You can only edit the course details of courses that have been created by your organisation. 

The organisation that created a course is displayed in the “Course author” field that is shown Course Details Page.    

  1. Login to the FLAIM Capture site.
  2. The FLAIM Capture Dashboard Page will now be displayed.
  3. Click on the "Online Courses" link displayed within the menu located on the left of the page.
  4. The "Online Courses" sub menu will now be displayed.
  5. Click on the "Course Index" link displayed within the "Online Courses" sub menu.
  6. The Courses Index Page will now be displayed.
  7. Click on the “Greater Than” icon (“>”) displayed at the right of the course whose details you want to display or edit.
  8. The Course Details Page of the course you selected will now be displayed.
  9. The "Overview" TAB will be displayed. The "Overview" TAB displays details of the course.
  10. To modify the details of the course, click on the “Settings” button displayed at the top right of the Course Details Page.
  11. The Edit Course Page will now be displayed.
  12. On the Edit Course Page, you can use the “included in student catalogue” switch to make the course visible in the Course Catalogue that students have access to. Making a course visible in the Student Course Catalogue will make it possible for students to self-enrol in the course.  When the toggle is green the course will be displayed in the Student Catalogue, when the toggle is grey the course will not be displayed in the Student Catalogue.
  13. If your organisation is not the Course Author (i.e., your organisation did not create the course), you will not be able to edit any other course details. All details will be greyed out without any ability to edit or modify the details.  If you need to modify a course that your organisation did not create, you will need to Duplicate the course.  This will create a copy of the course which you can then modify.
  14. If your organisation is the Course Author, this means your organisation created the course and you will be able to modify all details of the course.
  15. If your organisation is the Course Author, you can edit or modify the following course details:
      • Title

      This is the title of the course.

      • Description

      A description of the course.

      • Certificate text

      Text that will be displayed on the certificate that will be awarded when the course is completed and available for download or printing as a PDF.

      • Unsuccessful course message (optional)

      This field is optional.  The message that will be displayed if a learner completes the course but does not satisfy the requirements for a “Pass”.

      • Renewal period in month (optional)

      This field is optional.  Each course completion will award the learner a competency.  This enables you to specify for how long (in months) the competency will be valid for before there is a requirement to complete a refresher course.  If left blank the competency will remain valid without requiring the learner to complete any additional refresher training.

      • Ordered progression – (Yes or No)

      This field is optional.  This field enables you to specify if the course elements must be completed “lock step” in the sequence you have specified (Yes) or if the learner can complete the course elements in any sequence (No).

      • Limited quiz attempts

      “No” means that the learner can fail and then re-attempt the quiz without any limit.  “Yes” means that learners will only have a limited number of attempts to pass the quiz before the activity is considered “Completed” as either a Pass or Fail. 

      • Number of attempts

      If you selected “Yes” for “Limited quiz attempts” you must specify with a number how many attempts learners can take to try and achieve a Pass for the quiz activity.

      • Author

      You cannot edit or change this field.  The Author field displays the name of the organisation that created the course.

      • Promotional image

      All courses are required to have a promotional image.  Images should be in landscape orientation with a recommended resolution of 800 x 600.  To change the promotional photo, click on the "Change Photo" link that is displayed when you hover your mouse cursor over the image.

  16. To save any changes you have made to the course details you must click on the “Save” button displayed at the bottom of the Edit Course Page. If you do not want to save the changes you have made, click on the “Cancel” button displayed at the bottom of the Edit Course Page
  17. If you click on the “Save” button a confirmation message will be displayed in the top right of the page to indicate that changes have been saved and the course has been updated.
