Charging the equipment

Important: FLAIM Extinguisher should be recharged prior to each use. Follow the steps identified below to charge the different elements.

 

Charging the VR headset

The VR headset is used to provide the user with an immersive training experience. The headset displays the FLAIM Extinguisher Lobby and a range of realistic fire scenarios.

Complete the following steps to charge the VR headset:

1.

Remove the headset charger from the case.

2.

Plug the headset charger cable into the VR headset.

3.

Plug the headset charger into a power outlet.

The flashing battery LED indicates the charging level.

Tip: Use the International adaptor if needed.

 

How do you know when it's charging?

The VR headset battery can be charged when attached or not attached to the headset.

It is fully charged when 4 battery LEDs are illuminated.

The VR headset battery should last approximately 2 hours and charge within 1 hour.

 

Charging the controllers

The hose tracker attaches to the end of the hose and is used to interact with the VIVE menues, FLAIM Launcher and scenario items and / or teleport (when the scenario supports it).

The trigger assembly is used to activate the equipped suppressant and interact witht he FLAIM lobby and scenario items.

Complete the following steps to charge the hose tracker and trigger assembly:

1.

Remove the USB C Y splitter cable from the case.

2.

Connect the USB C Y splitter cable input to the USB Port on the VR headset.

3.

Connect one USB C Y splitter cable output to the hose tracker.

4.

Connect the other USB C Y splitter cable output to the trigger assembly.

5.

Press and hold the VR headset power button to turn on the headset. The controllers will begin charging.

Note: The VR headset must be turned ON and be charging at the same time to charge the hose tracker and the trigger assembly. Once charged, turn off the VR Headset to preserve battery.

 

How do you know when it's charging?

When the headset is ON, devices ARE connected:

  • An amber light means the devices are charging
  • A green light means the devices are fully charged

When the headset is OFF, devices ARE NOT connected:

  • An amber light means the devices are charging
  • A blue light means the devices are fully charged

The hose tracker and the trigger assembly should last approximately 4 hours and charge within 1 hour.
